The Swiss Army Knife of Cabinets

I could really use something like this to organize my bedroom (life).  Beautiful and functional - what's not to love?

"Six-door greywash storage cabinet or vanity in the style of Paul Laszlo with interior shelves in flat white lacquer - five doors conceal six shallow drawers and four deep drawers - one drop-down door conceals stationery or cosmetic caddy and telescoping mirror"

What's New With Wu?

While flipping through the August issue of InStyle Magazine I came across a picture of Jason Wu's new(er) headquarters.  Forget drab cubicles and unflattering fluorescent lighting, this uber-modern office (like Stacy's mom) has got it goin' on.  The husband and wife design duo of Carrier and Company worked with architect Giancarlo valle to create the understated, multifunctional space.  Located in the heart of New York's Garment District, the 9,000 square foot digs house the designer's showroom, studio, and administrative offices. The horizontal orientation or the showroom is pure genius!  The layout facilitates collaboration and flexibility of use allowing the space to easily transform into a conference room or an intimate runway for mid-season shows.  It seems this design team thought of everything.  I wonder if a Jason Wu store is on the horizon?

Classical Collaboration: Miles Redd & Gil Schafer

My heart just skipped a beat!  Miles Redd and Gil Schafer are a match made in heaven.  The proportions, the moldings and the amazing staircase designed by Gil work perfectly with the rich hues of peacock-blue, greens and reds chosen by Miles.  With that said, I will waste no time writing about my admiration for Miles and Gil because I think their work speaks for itself.  A Hudson Valley Greek Revival dream home!

Beach Daze

I'm looking forward to a little R&R this weekend.  If only North Avenue beach looked this good....

You've Got the Wright Stuff...

I am kicking myself for missing Wright's Mass Modern Market this past weekend.  In a effort to score brownie points with my grandparents I made the 45 minute trek up north knowing very well that I was missing out on some great deals.  On the brightside,  they gave me $20 (and probably saved me a few hundred).

So for now I will dream of what could have been....

1.  Art Deco Door Handles, Germany, c.1960
2.  Château les Merles, France

1.  Atomic Chandelier, Italy, c. 1965
2. Sasha Adler, Chicago Home Magazine
3. Vintage Chandelier, J. Crew flagship store

1.  Milo Baughman lounge chiar, c. 1960
1. Fritz Hansen, Model 3200 chair, Denmark, 1963
2.  Dara Caponigro's apartment, Domino Magazine

1.  Jeffrey Greene High Spindleback dining chairs, USA, 1975

1. Charles and Ray Eames DKR chair, USA, 1951

Falling for Fall

Dear God,

Please fast forward 3 months so I can wear these Girl Scout-inspired, drool-inducing fall styles....

Dream Job: The Crew

As I enter into my final semester of interior design school I can't help but dream about what it would be like to work in a beautifully designed office surrounded by other inspiring, creative people.  Ahhh, I snap back to reality (my cube)......

Watch this video of J. Crew employees sharing their experiences and tell me you don't get chills?!?!  Yes, maybe it's the music but hearing Jenna Lyons say,

"My work life crosses over, in many ways, into my personal life and in some ways into my dream life."

made me want to run for the nearest exit!  Luckily, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and if I have my way it will look and feel like this....
